Available one post of "Institutional Fellowship in the Department of Pediatric and Perinatal Infectious Diseases" at B J Wadia Hospital, Mumbai Under Dr Ira Shah. Course duration: 1 1/2 years for post MD/ DNB  Pediatrics. Last date for application 15th September 2024. Paediatric Cardiac Surgeon

Responsibilities of the Junior Paediatric Cardiac Surgeon


1.Junior paediatric cardiac surgeon will help and facilitate the smooth running of the Pediatric Cardiac Services.
2.He / she would be responsible for evaluation, diagnosis, pre-operative care, surgery, post-operative care and follow-up of the patients.
3.He / She would be responsible to liaise with cardiology, anaesthesist, Intensivist (NICU/PICU/CICU) teams for shared care of all cardiac surgical patients.
4.He / She would be responsible for facilitation of execution of paediatric cardiac camps and international cardiac surgical activities.
5.To be available for emergncy patient care services required by the department. 
6.To take additional responsibilities if need be as and when given by management to help in ethics, infection control committee, workers welfare committee, etc.
7.To liaise with blood blanks, infection control committee for best care of cardiac patients.
8.To take responsibility to coordinate with cardiologists, anaesthesist, intesivist, & fellow cardiac surgeons team to maintain the academic activity in the department.
9.To take responsibility for research activities, encourging the team members for the same.       
10.To coordinate with all the members of the cardiac surgical programme to facilitate the smooth functioning of patient care services.

Job Description: 
 This is full time appointment and involves:-
1)  You will attend to any clinical work assigned by superior authorities.
2) You are directed to attend any meeting that may be conveyed by the Medical Director/ Superintendent /HOD for which you are invited.
3) You will have to stay in the Hospital campus duty room on emergency days,if required 
4) Periodical grading and testing of students.
6) Helping  senior consultant  in Supervision of practical classes, demonstrations, departmental library, and maintenance of costly instruments received in the Department experimental and clinical work done in the department and periodical checking stores, muster, dead stock, registrar etc. and any other work in the department as will be assigned by the Head of the Department and Medical Director.
7) Supervision over the residents / trainees and instructions to the residents / trainees in ward.
8) You will be required to attend to paying clinic and paying ward patients also (for which no extra remuneration will be paid) being the employee of the hospital.
9) Being associated with this teaching Institution you will endeavor to take part in the extracurricular activities of the Institution such as conducting research, publication of scientific papers, conference/workshop/seminar etc.
10)You will obtain prior sanction of the Medical Director / Medical Superintendent before attending conference, seminars, workshop etc. either in India or abroad. You will participate in Department research activities.

Qualification: MD/DNB Radiodiagnosis

Experience: 2 years or more. Experience of performing USG scans in neonates/NICU mandatory.

Broad Job description: 

•Obtains patients histories from past records, patient interviews and by communicating with referring clinicians. Prepares comprehensive interpretive reports of findings.

•Performs and interprets the outcomes of diagnostic imaging procedures including X-rays and ultrasound for neonates in NICU & wards, adult patients especially for Gynecology & Obstetric indications.

•Reviews and transmits images and information using picture archiving and communications systems. 

•Communicates examination results and diagnostic information to referring physicians, patients and families.

•Compiling written reports of results and diagnoses.

•Following medical protocols for resuscitation, bleeding, infection or any other emergency situation as necessary

•Implements protocols in related to infection control as per hospital policies.

•Develops and monitors procedures to ensure adequate quality control of images.

•Participates in continuing education activities to maintain and develop expertise.
